This 10 Year Old Port is smooth, well balanced and mature and is ready for drinking now. Try serving chilled in warm weather.

Dow’s 10 Years Old Tawny has a bright tawny colour. On the nose brimming with aromas of candied fruit and toffee, beautifully combined with some mature ripe fruit. On the palate vibrant nutty flavours, perfect balance and with a lovely long finish.

Food pairing suggestions and serving
Dow’s 10 Years Old Tawny is a perfect match to sweet pastries, such as apple pie with cinnamon. Taste slightly chilled to appreciate the full complexity and sensuous pleasure of this wine. An excellent alternative to Vintage Port.

Colheita Ports (pronounced “Col-yate-a”) are Tawny Ports made from the very best wines of a single harvest (Colheita means harvest in Portuguese). Although they are aged in the same way as blended tawny Ports (10, 20, 30 and over 40 years) in seasoned oak casks, they differ in that they are representative of one single year and not blended to express a consistent style with little or no variation.

Legally they must be aged a minimum of seven years before being bottle and sold. However, often they can be much older. The labelling indicates the year of the harvest as well as the year of bottling. The difference between these two dates is equivalent to the number of years the wine was matured in wood before bottling. Colheita Ports are relatively rare and represent only a fraction of all port sold worldwide.

Dow’s 1996 Colheita is a blend of the very highest quality wines from the 1996 harvest and matured in seasoned oak casks at our lodges in Vila Nova de Gaia.

Tasting Notes
Lovely tawny and red colour. On the nose, still showing marvelous mature red fruit aromas combined with nuttiness and hints of spices and vanilla. On the palate, balanced, well rounded, with slightly toasted flavours of nuts and fruit. Excellent long finish.

Dow’s 2004 Late Bottled Vintage is a wine of a single year but it is not a “declared” Vintage Port. Whereas Vintage Port spends only two years in oak cask and then matures in bottle, LBV is aged in seasoned oak casks and then bottled, when it is between four and six years old. At the time of bottling, Dow’s LBV has completed its maturation and is ready for drinking without the need for decanting.

Tasting Notes
Dow’s LBV 2004 has an intense and bright red colour. With a marvellous nose of intense red and black berry fruit aromas. The palate is very well rounded and the rich ripe blackberry fruit flavours lead to a long and lingering finish.

Food pairing suggestion and serving
Dow’s LBV can be enjoyed anytime and pairs wonderfully with chocolate desserts and hard cheeses like mature Cheddar or even with a soft goat’s cheese.
