| Fine Tawny is aged for approximately three years in small barrels. This hastens the ageing process so that the wine evolves to a reddish amber colour and develops a silky feel and nutty flavour. Tawny Port is filtered before bottling and and is a smoother, mellower drink than its Ruby counterpart.
Cockburn’s Fine Tawny is produced from grapes grown in the Lower Douro, lighter skinned and perfectly suited for tawny wine. During its time in wood, Cockburn’s Fine Tawny loses some of its colour and rich texture and acquires instead a classic nutty/butterscotch flavour. It has a smooth full flavour with a toffee nose. As a dessert wine, Fine Tawny pairs brilliantly with cream-based desserts such as cheesecake or crême brulée. It may also be enjoyed chilled, and served with almonds or pecans. |

| Mainly sourced from Quinta dos Canais. The Touriga Nacional grapes were picked late (23rd September) in perfect weather conditions and at ideal maturity, producing very robust and attractive wines, whilst Touriga Franca was harvested considerably later (5th October) and benefited from wonderful warm weather throughout September. The perfect condition and maturity of this variety imparts magnificent floral characters to the blend. The vintage is therefore a blend of robust Touriga Nacional grapes (45%), late harvested, characteristically floral Touriga Franca grapes (40%) sourced from Quinta dos Canais and, for additional depth, an extremely intense blend of grapes from very old vineyards from Quinta das Amendoeiras. This combination of grape varieties resulted in a very intense and tannic rich wine forming a firm and solid base to this magnificent Vintage.
