Behind the light straw color are aromas of sweet spring flowers, green tea, and a touch of fresh pineapple. The palate is framed by flavors of lemon meringue, fresh papaya, limestone, and subtle nuances of clove finishing with nectarine and light vanilla oak tones.
This Chardonnay pairs well with scallops over spring greens with a fresh Meyer lemon vinaigrette. Try this wine also with your favorite appetizers such as baked Brie topped with mango preserves or even mixed seafood ceviche served alongside a basket of tortilla chips. |

| Aromas of fresh basil, blueberries, and plum. Rich and elegant without being too heavy on the palate, flavors of fresh cherry pie, sweet plum, and soft cinnamon. With just a hint of velvety tannins, our Merlot finishes with notes of smooth vanilla. |

| Dark garnet in color, the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon blend presents aromas of fresh roasted hazelnuts, espresso, cherry liquor, and black currants. In the mouth, this Cabernet blend exudes deep blackberry notes with toffee, dark cherry, Dutch cocoa, tea leaf, and fig compote. On the finish, there are rich tannins, caramel oak notes, toasted coconut, and black raspberry with mouthwatering acidity. Our Monterey Cabernet was sourced from a warm vineyard on the northeastern side of Monterey County. This fruit was the last of our 2009 vintage to come off the vine, as a result, produced wines with a lot of color and brilliant fruit. 2009 Paso Robles Cabernet contributes depth and mouthfeel as well as dusty Paso Robles terrior that comes across in the brambly nature of this blend. The Clarkburg Cabernet came off the vine at the end of October and didn’t miss a hitch; this leg adds structure to the blend. River Junction Cabernet adds ripe blackberry flavors, with the addition of River Junction Syrah, to round out the tannins and add cherry fruit notes. Monterey Tempranillo brings tea leaf flavors and good terrior influences. Last but not least, Lodi Alicante Bouchet and Petite Sirah add great color to the overall blend.
Pairings: This wine would go great with an open-faced steak sandwich with caramelized onions and shaved asiago cheese alongside an arugula salad studded with dried cherries and candied pecans. Lamb meatballs over soft polenta with an oven roasted tomato sauce and dried black olives or Korean BBQ ribs with all the fixings would be a great option. |

| Pennywise Pinot Noir |

| Our inaugural Pennywise Pinot Noir blend is ruby colored with aromas of fresh cherries with a hint of Monterey terrior and silky caramelized oak. The mouth of this wine explodes with cherry fruit, nuances of chocolate truffles with hints of lavender, summer sweet plums and wild strawberry. This wine finishes with a note of espresso, subtle Spanish bay leaf, and crushed blueberries wrapped around integrated French oak.
This wine was crafted from two different vineyard blocks of Monterey Pinot Noir and Clarksburg Pinot Noir. Most of this fruit is a combination of Clone 4 (Pommard), 115, 667, and 777. These appellations bring different nuances to the table. The 2008 Clarksburg Pinot Noir is very fruit forward which is balanced by the terrior driven 2008 Monterey Pinot Noir. The combination of the two lots lends to a blend with depth and complexity unknown to this price category. A splash of Syrah and Merlot adds some additional depth and color to this blend without distracting from the true varietal characteristic of Pinot Noir.
Pairings: This wine would pair wonderfully with a seared duck breast with cherry reduction alongside wild rice, a mixed mushroom flatbread pizza with fresh thyme, or a ground turkey burger topped with fresh chevre and caramelized onions with Dijon mustard. |
